אם עיצוב בית זו משימה מאתגרת, אז עיצוב בית לדתיים ולחרדים זו בכלל תורה שלמה. טוב שכמעצבת פנים דתיה, יש לי היכרות אישית במיוחד עם שפע ה'דיברות' שחשוב לזכור וליישם בבית הדתי.
דוגמאות? כיורים ומשטחי שיש כפולים במטבח – לחלבי ולבשרי; שטחי אחסון לסירים, לכלי-אוכל ולסכו"ם – חלביים, בשריים ופרווה; מקום לפלטה, למיחם ולכלים חגיגיים לשבתות ולמועדים; איזורי איחסון שמורים ולעתים מטבח נפרד לפסח; תנורים ומדיחים שיתאימו לחלבי ולבשרי; מקרר עם מנגנון שבת. ומחוץ למטבח? התאמת הבית למשפחות ברוכות ילדים; אפשרויות לינה ואירוח מתוגברות – כי אורחים לשבת באים לכל השבת; ספריות לעשרות ולמאות ספרי-קודש; אופציות להפעלה ידנית של תריסים וחלונות חשמליים; כיורים לנטילת-ידיים – וזוהי רק ההתחלה, כשלכל משפחה שיקולים הלכתיים, מנהגים וכמובן אופי משלה.

A Mehadrin home – it’s all in the details!
If designing a home is a challenging task, then doing so for Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox families is a Torah sheleimah of special considerations. As an orthodox interior designer, I'm personally familiar with the halachik life style that must be kept in mind when designing a dati home.
Examples? Double sinks and surfaces in kitchens, storage for chalavi, basari and parve dishes and silverware, separate ovens and dishwashers, spaces for Shabbat hotplates and kettles, fridges with Shabbat switches and designated areas for Pesach or complete Pesach kitchens.
And outside the kitchen? Living-space solutions for large families, hospitality features for Shabbat guests, shelving for any number of sefarim, non-electrical options for blinds and windows, strategically placed netilat yadayim stations… and that's just the beginning. Each family has its own hashkafa and minhagim to be taken into account.
